"Read this lah"

Most knows about Singlish, which is very popular in Singapore. "Don't play play", "I scratch your back, your scratch my back" that's what we heard when we watched the popular Singaporean sitcom, "Phua Chu Kang". The show was put under pressure by the Singaporean government to use proper English instead of Singlish few years back.

Here in Malaysia, everywhere, in market, "Kopitiams", shopping mall , even in corporate office, we can hear the Malaysian English. "Oh, Like that la..", "Why you don't want ler?", "Ok bah, take la..". I have a few friends from oevrseas asked me "What does la means?" Some don't include "leh", "Lah", "Bah", etc when they speak but the way the pronounce the word very funny. This is a list of what I heard :

1. "Have you fat this document to Mr. So and so?" - actually he means that "Have you fax this document to Mr. So and so?"

2. "Try this su, see can fit or not?" - Means "Try this pair of shoes, see whether it fits or not..."

3. "I bought this at Bolibart" - "I bought this at Boulevard"

4. "Let's go to Spling" - "Let's go to Spring"

5. "Please put this notice at the Show How" - " Please put this notice at the Show House"

6. "Have you call him regarding the ma-chi-ner-li?" - I have been wondering what the heck he talk about until one day I realise that he was talking about machinery.

7. When giving out phone number, "082-XXXXXX", 0 will be pronounce as jilo.

8. Affordable = Affordtable?????

9. Pizza = Pija?

10.Quotations = Kuatatsyen?

11. Original = Oligina?

12. Park = pak?

13. Wira = Wila?

14. Box = bot?

15. RHB = ah ler H B?

16. Reserve = li seve?

17. Saturday = Sakterday?

18. Courier = Kolea?

19. Amount = Ah mao?

20. Office = Offik?

21. Hello = Hallo?

22. Color= Car ler?

23. Restaurant = Las toe len?

24. Both = Bot?

25. Confused= Con Feel?

.
.
.
and some call me "Bajila". Excuse!!!! My name is Vajira not Bajila
etc, etc,
..... list to be continue.

I don't mean that I am very good in English. I just feel funny that why some can't try their best to speak better English. I am learning and try to improve too. "Ok lah, I am lazy liao. Enough for now. "

CNY is just around the corner

Most of the chinese are now busy, preparing for Chinese New Year. Some are busy painting their house, some are busy cleaning their house and some are busy shopping and visiting the saloons. Some look great after coming out from the saloon, some still look the same after coming out from the saloon (err...I mean some wasted their money at the saloon, spend and still look the same), and some who are "less fortunate" look worse after coming out from the saloon. Whether they like it or not, once their hair has been trimmed, there is no way for them to get back the hairstyle they have before they went to visit the hair stylist.

Me too, went to saloon for trimming my hair. Were hoping to have a new look, but turn out kinda disappointing. I still look the same after trimming my hair. Damn! Wasted my forty bucks. Never wanna go back there again. Firstly is because my hair style still looks the same after he trim my hair. Secondly, because of the hairstylist is not friendly maybe because of his business is well established in Kuching. Thankfully, I didn't come out from the saloon as if I am having a bad hair day.

We love our pet as much as we love our family members, whatever we do for ourselves, we will do for our pet too. We groom ourselves and we groom our pet too. My Fiance's mom has brought his two lovely pet to the pet shop for grooming.

Pam & Troy - Before and After the haircut.

Some pics of animals having bad hair day or bad haircut:

A cat on the street with lion hair cut

"Don't look at me like that, I am just having a bad hair day after I used the wrong shampoo..."

The chinese crested, he or she not having a bad hair cut or a bad hair day, that is just how he or she suppose to like.

Have you ever seen a Ninja Poodle?

Poodle that is transformed to become a Ninja Turtle. Maybe his or her owner is a fan of Ninja Turtle.

I like this one :
This is nice

Aussie tale of love in the outback

G'day Mate. As this is my first entry for 2009, I would like share my review about the first movie I've watched in 2009. Not many movies can attract my attention, maybe that's why my fiance always tagged me as "Not a real movie person". This movie attracted me because of the title. I love Australia. Until today I still love that place very much. I feel so regret for coming back here, I should have stay back for another semester by postponing my exams. That was the biggest mistake that I ever made. Sigh, I just need to wait for the right time to come, to make some arrangement to go back there again.

Ok, now back to the movie. Lady Sarah Ashely ( Nicole Kidman), an uppercrust Brit who believes her husband's cheating on her. Sarah packs up dozens of bags and hightails it to Australia after her husband refuses to return home from tending to their business interests down under. She wants to find out who he's cheating with and to get him to sell of their land and go back to England. Her plan was changed when she found out that her husband was dead when she reaches Down Under.

She fell in love with the Drover ( Hugh Jackman) and Nullah( the little boy). Nullah was so cute. He is a child of the stolen generation, son of Neil Fletcher and Daisy.

Nullah

I like the the way Nullah speaks, very adorable. Tears were rolling down from my cheeks when I watched the scene that Nullah was taken to the Mission Island.

Now I am looking forward to watch the 3D movie that is coming soon and also Chihuahua of Beveryl Hills. I am still waiting for Chihuahua of Beverly Hills. Seems like they won't be showed in the cinema.
